Thanks goes out to one like-minded gent and appreciator of the creative side of the game – Eric Beard for introducing Kendall and myself.

Kendall is a designer based out in the US who was fortunate enough to work with Nike, producing a series of Newspaper headline inspired prints that were used as part of the back drop for a Nike product shoot.

Showcasing the limited edition Neymar JR Golden Hypervenom that he wore in the latter stages of the World Cup, each print uses elements of the Brazilian national team – charting the career path that Neymar has been on.

He’s been a much talked after, wonderkid and is now Real Madrid player – Martin Ødegaard has jumped to the fore as Nike launches its first ever home and away kits for the Norwegian National Football Team – equipped with a unique national crest that celebrates national pride, both are tasty additions to the international scene.

Honoring Norway’s footballing heritage while incorporating the latest in technical innovation for maximum performance – The Norwegian side will debut their new away kit on-pitch against Croatia on March 28.

The new Norway kits are designed with the athlete in mind, offering zero distractions from elite performance. They feature a new, specially designed national crest symbolizing the team’s distinctive ability to rally the collective spirit of the country.

The home shirt is in Norway’s traditional red, with a gradient dark blue sash on the front panel. The full home kit includes white shorts and blue socks to create a timeless, crisp look.

“The kits feel great, look modern and yet are very classic designs,” said Martin Ødegaard, Norway’s youngest-ever senior international. “I wear Norway’s colors with great pride and I look forward to getting onto the pitch in the new kits.”

The away kit is white with a V-neck collar, and the lightweight fabric features a subtle checkered pattern. The white away shorts and socks complete the kit’s clean aesthetic.

Nike Dri-FIT technology and engineered mesh material construction help players stay dry and cool on the pitch, increasing breathability and air flow where athletes need it most to help them perform at the highest level.

“The new Norwegian national team kits combine Nike’s design and innovation expertise and our ambition for football in this country,” said Kjetil Siem, Football Association of Norway General Secretary. “This is the first kit that carries the new crest that represents pride, solidarity and strength – common values we share as a football family and as a nation as we look to the future.”

The new Norway home and away kits are available in stores from March 21.

Typography is an art like no other. It’s the backbone of most creative – just as important as layout, photography, illustration etc it is something most definitely to be celebrated.

In the football world, it’s a way of showing the mood and passion of a creative – it captures mood like nothing else.

Today, we’re celebrating the utterly heroic type by French wizard, Alexis Taib (Tyrsa).

His portfolio is certainly one to gawp over. How his type has been applied to many a medium is simply brilliant.

Nike have used it in creative pieces supporting Nike FC as have the French Football Federation. It’s incredibly transferable and a epitome of class at that.

Along side Black History Month, Nike has released a rather breath-taking collection of products across basketball, football, running, skateboarding and American football that honors six athletes and coaches who have positively impacted sport with their courage and determination: Theotis Beasley, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Jerry Rice, Brianna Rollins, C. Vivian Stringer and John Thompson.

The limited edition 2015 BHM Collection includes 28 items, all featuring a black and white palette and mix of three different prints. The collection ranges from performance to lifestyle with 12 shoes and 16 apparel and accessory items for men and women.

Kevin Prince-Boateng is the figurehead leading the football inspired pieces of the collection having taken a stand against intolerable abuse on the pitch, inspiring his team to help in the fight against racism and take action as one.

Taking one of the most beautiful boots of 2014 and adapting it to the hard surface of the small-sided court is what Nike have done in stunning fashion here.
