PUMA today introduced the latest evoPOWER 1.2 football boot with a blazing new make-over. The high risk red and sea pine coloured boot will be exclusively launched on pitch by Cesc Fàbregas, who will wear it when his team Chelsea FC have to face Manchester United this Saturday night. After the weekend, the boot will also be worn by Olivier Giroud, Mario Balotelli, Dante and many other international football players.

The evoPOWER 1.2 with all its innovative technologies is made for power and accuracy when kicking the ball. Taking its inspiration from the movement of a barefoot, the boot provides maximum flexibility, which has an increased impact on the shooting power. The boot’s lightweight and super soft upper material stretches in a longitudinal not lateral direction allowing a freedom of movement while maintaining support. Accuracy is further improved with the GripTex print that runs across the full length of the upper, providing enhanced ball control in all weather conditions.

Added precision is created through the lightweight AccuFoam lining that provides a clean kicking surface.

The colours of the new evoPOWER 1.2 take its inspiration from the Japanese dragon, a traditional symbol for speed, power, wisdom and agility. The sea pine heel counter features a dragon skin graphic print, whilst the white formstripe create a striking contrast on the high risk red upper.

Speaking about the boot, Cesc Fàbregas said, “The new evoPOWER boot absolutely matches my taste, and as a Spaniard I can’t resist a red boot. It looks really striking and the heel with the dragon skin graphic gives it a special look. When I was told I will be the first player to wear it this weekend when we play Manchester United I naturally thought it was a real honour. It is an important match, and Manchester will be hard to beat as every point counts so close to the end of the season.”

The new colourway of the evoPOWER 1.2 boot will be available in-store and on puma.com from 1 May 2015. A full colour aligned collection including training apparel and accessories, shin pads and balls will also be available to purchase from that day.

With the UEFA Champions League having embarked on its most exciting stage, the ball is ready to become the centre of attention once again, and will shine throughout the pitches of Europe; from the knock-out stages, all the way to the Final.

Inspired by the cultured and design full hub that is Berlin, the ball carries many a nod to the City. The Brandenburg Gate set in front of the legendary Olympiastadion Berlin, sits proudly at the top of the ball. It is of course, the setting for this year´s ultimate UEFA Champions League Final, which will take place on Saturday 6th June.

The surrounding stars on the ball each have a bold and colourful design,including the other key Berliner symbol: the bear. The vibrant mix of colour is also typical of the the expressive, artistic and free spirited German capital city.

Taking a look, close up of the ball – it’s a bit of a game changer this one – letting the creativity spill onto the pitch in such a beautiful fashion – I’m a massive fan of the Finale Berlin.

As with all UEFA Champions League Official Match Balls, the adidas Finale Berlin features an outer coating texture designed to provide optimal grip at the point of impact. The thermally bonded star panel design on the match ball, based on the design of the UEFA Champions League logo, provides a seamless surface and first-class performance.

The Finale Berlin is also be showcased in this week´s Gamedayplus episode, the 7th of the series, which will include an exclusive stadium tour at Chelsea with none other than star defender Gary Cahill. The instalment will also give a special behind the scenes look at the shooting of adidas most recent ´There will be Haters´ campaign advert, featuring Leo Messi, James Rodriguez, Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale, Benzema. In this week’s episdode there’s a tour of FC Schalke 04’s impressive Valtins-Arena and a sit down with Atsuto Uchida ahead of the must-win game against Chelsea FC. There’s also a catch up with Bastian Schweinsteiger along with the addition of Diego Costa, Filipe Luís and Andreas Christensen at Chelsea’s training ground.

Following on from the hugely successful Forever Blue campaign which launched the new 2014/15 home shirt in April, adidas and Chelsea Football Club have today revealed the new look away shirt, inspired by famous yellow kits from the club’s past.

Fans of all ages will have great memories of Chelsea in a yellow away strip, from its first outings with the likes of Peter Osgood in the 1960s and 1970s, through unforgettable moments with Clive Walker in the 1980s, Gianfranco Zola in the 1990s up to Frank Lampard’s memorable winner in the FA Cup final of 2009.

The new shirt will be the lightest Chelsea away shirt ever produced, featuring the latest in adiZero lightweight technology and a polo collar which pays tribute to the retro designs, as well as an iconic blue stripe across the back which contrasts the two traditional Chelsea colours.

The new kit is also a timely arrival, being available to fans on the eve of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, with the new yellow shirt bringing a link to the club’s strong Brazilian contingent of players – David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires and Willian, who will be heading to the tournament this summer.
