adidas has today revealed a boot made heel to toe from their revolutionary Primeknit material. The adidas Primeknit 2.0 is the latest update of the original Primeknit boot, launched and worn on pitch last year by Luis Suarez.

The all-new Primeknit 2.0 model brings together two key adidas innovation projects – the original Samba Primeknit boot, and the Primeknit FS (Footy Sock) prototype; which was a “concept” boot presented by adidas in 2014.

Based on the construction insights gained from the Primeknit FS, the Primeknit 2.0 comes enhanced with “compression fit” technology. An all-new compression tongue includes Lycra yarns designed to wrap around the midfoot area and create a maximum lockdown effect. The boot also features a new anatomical heel shape and design, following the natural shape of the back of the foot to provide optimum support.

The forefoot contains a knit structure specifically designed to aid control. The control knit structure offers 3D texture that combines ultimate ball control with unrivalled manoeuvrability and traction by way of the f50 adizero outsole.

The “outer shell” of the Primeknit 2.0 comprises of a zoned knitted upper with a lightweight vacuum coated skin to protect the yarns and retain a soft surface, meaning the boot is at home in any weather, on any pitch.

Following on from the recent release of the adizero 99g, the lightest boot of all time available for purchase, the Primeknit 2.0 is the latest product to be launched as part of the new adidas Football “Limited Collection”. Footwear items to be included in the “Limited Collection” range will be those released in super-limited quantities, which also showcase the best in adidas Football innovation and / or collaboration.

With just 10,000 pairs available globally, the boots will be the hottest property on the field of play when a selection of the world’s best players debut the boots during UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg matches later this week.

PUMA today introduced the latest evoPOWER 1.2 football boot with a blazing new make-over. The high risk red and sea pine coloured boot will be exclusively launched on pitch by Cesc Fàbregas, who will wear it when his team Chelsea FC have to face Manchester United this Saturday night. After the weekend, the boot will also be worn by Olivier Giroud, Mario Balotelli, Dante and many other international football players.

The evoPOWER 1.2 with all its innovative technologies is made for power and accuracy when kicking the ball. Taking its inspiration from the movement of a barefoot, the boot provides maximum flexibility, which has an increased impact on the shooting power. The boot’s lightweight and super soft upper material stretches in a longitudinal not lateral direction allowing a freedom of movement while maintaining support. Accuracy is further improved with the GripTex print that runs across the full length of the upper, providing enhanced ball control in all weather conditions.

Added precision is created through the lightweight AccuFoam lining that provides a clean kicking surface.

The colours of the new evoPOWER 1.2 take its inspiration from the Japanese dragon, a traditional symbol for speed, power, wisdom and agility. The sea pine heel counter features a dragon skin graphic print, whilst the white formstripe create a striking contrast on the high risk red upper.

Speaking about the boot, Cesc Fàbregas said, “The new evoPOWER boot absolutely matches my taste, and as a Spaniard I can’t resist a red boot. It looks really striking and the heel with the dragon skin graphic gives it a special look. When I was told I will be the first player to wear it this weekend when we play Manchester United I naturally thought it was a real honour. It is an important match, and Manchester will be hard to beat as every point counts so close to the end of the season.”

The new colourway of the evoPOWER 1.2 boot will be available in-store and on puma.com from 1 May 2015. A full colour aligned collection including training apparel and accessories, shin pads and balls will also be available to purchase from that day.

The Nike Football App enables you to challenge others from the palm of your hand to the pitch with your feet.

This video, which quite frankly is utterly sublime shows how you can do that. Though, this is set in Mexico City and looks the bees. Players clad in the new MercurialX too, which I might add, is another beautiful addition to the X family from Nike.

With a high standard throughout, this imagery helps showcase the message – bringing together the city, the club and the fans. The presentation is delivered with fine taste, incorporating land marks of Birmingham into the players. Top photography and great composition, this is an all round, smart campaign with design work being done by Birmingham City.

The game-changing adizero 99g marks a revolutionary step in technology and product innovation in football, with the boot designed to make players both lighter and faster, giving them both a physical and psychological advantage on the field.

The eye-catching boot, rigorously tested for tear strength and abrasions, has been created in adidas’ adizero speed range and is aimed at enhancing player performance through added raw speed and agility, whilst still ensuring players are suitably protected in an increasingly fast and competitive game.

With just 299 pairs to be put on sale globally, the boots themselves have undergone extensive global player-testing – including amateur players, semi-professionals and some of the world’s best players with the likes of Karim Benzema and David Alaba.

Ground-breaking features of the 99g boot include:

• 1mm polyamide outsole which reduces weight but has the rigidity to perform at the highest level

• Extremely lightweight upper layer made from a single layer of woven polyester mesh

• Unique stud layout to ensure fastest possible movements in all directions

The new adizero 99g is around half the weight of a regular boot. Regardless of the weather conditions, the material is always 99g, unlike synthetic or leather boots which simply get heavier when wet.
