AS Monaco football photography design 12elfth man

Ahead on the AS Monaco / Arsenal game (and ahead of all games as it happens) – the team with arguably one of the most stunning back drops to train in front of have a brilliant habit of releasing beautifully shot photos as part of the build up.

They’re pretty damn good. Just makes that Berlin Finale ball look all that much more fantastic.

Following AS Monaco is well worth it on facebook.

So clean.

Recently you might have seen a couple of posts about pre-season campaigns by a couple of clubs on home shores… I thought it only right to take a look at some work that is going on overseas. Where better to look than Brazil?

And so, here is ‘Cada 1 é 11’ by Brazilian giants Sport Club Internacional – direct translation of ‘Each 1 is 11’ – a campaign that aims to express that the fans are as much part of the starting 11…as the starting 11. Quite often the 12th Man and inspiration behind the name of this here blog, there’s no denying that fans make the beautiful game we all go nuts for.

With the help of Brazilian photographer Thiago Peraça the Porto Alegre based club have delivered a campaign of high value – sporting a pretty swish (swoosh) kit in a belter of a stadium to boot.

This is a really smart campaign – so clean and well packaged – this is piece is in the build up for an upcoming fixture. Simple and effective.

How about this for a place to do the biz too – the Estádio Beira-Rio, notably one of the 2014 Brazil World Cup Venues. It’s a work of art in itself.

Everton we are chosen header

At the tail end of last week, we featured the 15/16 season ticket campaign by Wolverhampton Wanderers – I mentioned how this time of year is always quite an awesome one for new products / releases and general creativity in and around the game. There’s a lot of planning done for the future and this is the time a lot comes to the fore.

So, up next is Everton and their 15/16 season ticket campaign. They haven’t dissapointed – far from it – they’ve smashed it. ‘We Are Chosen’ unites fans, players and staff in their support for the club they love. It’s an aspirational piece shot in fine fashion, the delivery is brilliant.

Here’s the video that is at the heart of the campaign.

Adding another dimension to the campaign, there’s also some great behind the scenes footage and photography.

The club have created a bespoke landing page for the campaign with additional photography, prices and all the FAQs // See it here. They’re also inviting fans to send in their Everton tattoos – you can see a full gallery of tats here.

Very cool and a lot of time for this.

As a big fan of the work by Simon Walsh, it’s great to be able to feature another top piece of work from his peach of a portfolio.

This illustration of Watford’s no. 9 Troy Deeney is right at home in amongst a brilliant collection of work. Check out his portfolio here.

Watford are sitting just inside the Championship playoffs as it stands and Deeney, a proven and consistent striker has 12 goals in 28 games to his name.

Do check out more of Simon’s work – it’s nothing short of superb.

adidas have today announced that England and Arsenal forward, Theo Walcott has signed a long term deal with the brand. Walcott will become one of the leading faces of the brand globally and will wear the new adiZero F50 in his next game. An interesting choice but the opportunity for Theo Walcott is there, now is the time to take it.

Walcott on the new deal: “I am excited to be joining adidas and lining up alongside some of the world’s best players. The adidas adiZero F50 is an exceptional boot and I am looking forward to wearing the boots and scoring goals in them.

Walcott will become part of the latest adidas campaign, #therewillbehaters which is themed around the “motivation of hate” and how sometimes that reaction can be the ultimate compliment from fans, the media and fellow players alike. Watch out for more to follow soon!

Ok, the European football season is yet to reach its conclusion throughout the land. We get that…alas – it is no great surprise that next years kits have or are being decided and clubs up and down the place are putting plans in place for what lies ahead in the 15/16 season.

I always look forward to this time of year, it’s a point in which many creative ideas come to fruition.

A fine example is that of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 15/16 early bird season ticket offer.

Acknowledging that supporting a team such as their – especially in recent years can be a topsy turvy affair but with the lows come the very highs. This is the bespoke site they have set up.

Really smart stuff from a well organised and design focused club. Wolves have created a beautiful brand and image of their club.

Here’s a few other things of theirs I’ve featured in the past:

Tip top.

This collaboration sees Pro Direct Soccer and Uhlsport team up to offer the chance in designing and creating your own Rollfinger gloves. It’s a competition open to all and what’s more the design will also be sold around the world and given away to professional goalkeepers.

Who wouldn’t want to design and create their very own gloves? It would be damn right awesome.

As well as the creation coming to life, they’ll also be presented at the Pro Direct flagship store LDN19 by a professional goalkeeper. If you’ve not been there – you really should.

A great opportunity and another celebration where design and football cross paths in tremendous fashion. The imagery to go with this is nothing short of brilliant.
