The last couple of weeks has been an utter feast for lovers of a football boot. We’ve been blessed with a wealth of colour, creativity and above all innovation.

Umbro are no exception to the rule, most recently launching the latest iteration of the Geo Flare, Speciali and UX-1 in fine fashion.

Always a fan of the ‘things organised neatly’ approach, this supporting imagery is stunning, each representing the character of the boot and it’s inhabitant.

Geo Flare

Built from a lightweight microfiber upper, the GeoFLARE features an enhanced re-ground rubber print at the toe to help control the ball in wet weather conditions while not compromising on design. Control is pushed further by the embossed medial pass pad, created purely for enhanced ball dampening and control.

UX-1

A boot with an evolved A-Frame design, the Umbro UX-1 Concept FG offers stability and security from a one-piece upper made from light, breathable material. It is football innovation at its finest – breaking the mould in boot design. It’s stunning on the eye.

Speciali 4

Worn by top players around the world for over twenty years, the Speciali is a football icon. The latest edition of the boot, the Speciali 4, offers the comfort and fit that you’d expect from the Speciali. An evolution of the classic A-frame offers extra stability in the mid-foot region, while off-set lacing increases strike zones, a superb balance of timeless design and modern innovation that will appeal to players at every level of the game.

What a day to watch a game. Spurs fan and Man vs Food host Adam Richman got a chance to not only visit his favourite Premier League team, Tottenham Hotspur but he also took over the clubs TV channel.

Naturally, he owned the situation.

What’s more, he got to interview man of the match and owner of that match ball (thanks to his hat-trick), Harry Kane.

Enjoy…

This weekend sees the debut of the new Mitre Delta V12S Fluo football. This will be used across the Sky Bet Football League from this weekend through until March. In a first for The Football League, on Saturday the new fluorescent yellow balls will also feature the iconic Movember “Mo” to celebrate the start of the Movember charity campaign. Damn good stuff!

As I’m sure you know, each year, Movember challenges men to grow moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness and funds for beneficiaries including The Football League’s Official Charity Partner, Prostate Cancer UK. The new Mitre Delta V12S Fluo football will be provided to all 72 Football League clubs for their first matches of Movember and will feature in the 34 Sky Bet Football League matches that kick-off on Saturday including Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Birmingham City and AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion, both broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Carl Davies, Managing Director of Mitre, comments: “We are pleased to have this unique opportunity to promote Movember with The Football League. We hope the ‘Mo’ featuring on our new Mitre Delta V12S match ball will raise awareness amongst the football community of this important charity and encourage both players and fans to take part.”

JC, Movember Co-Founder said: “We are delighted to have the support of the Football League, Mitre and all 72 Football League clubs to help kick-off Movember. Placing a Mo on the official match ball will help raise awareness of men’s health both on the pitch and in the stands as well as inspire football fans all over the country to sign up and grow a moustache this Movember.”

Football League Chief Executive Shaun Harvey adds:

“This is another excellent example of Football League partners coming together to help promote a fantastic cause. The arrival of the Fluo balls is a staging post in the Football League season. It is great to be able to mark the first weekend of the new footballs and the start of Movember in this way.”

The Mitre Delta V12S Fluo is a hi-visibility version of the Delta V12S, the most advanced FIFA approved quality match ball ever made.

The football will be used in Sky Bet Football League matches from November until the end of February thanks to its high visibility in darker conditions; the fluorescent colour has also been proven to increase player reaction time. The ball retains Mitre’s unique 12 panel construction keeping the ball stable at over 70mph whilst offering enhanced aerodynamics, optimising the speed and accuracy of a shot.

We were able to have a kick about with one not long ago – it’s one hell of a beautiful ball.
