A celebration of football – Nike Tight of the Moment x Federation collection

In football, the national team kit is more than just a uniform. It’s a beacon of pride, a symbol of heritage and a cultural currency.

The Nike Tight of the Moment x Federation Collection celebrates the culture of football with four tights inspired by the Brasilian, American, English and French national team kits.

The patterns on the tights feature design elements from each team’s kit. Using body-mapping data provided by the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab, Nike designers were able to strategically place the patterns to highlight muscles and heating and cooling zones in a flattering fashion.

“This collection is a tribute to both the body in movement and the summer of football,” says Julie Igarashi, Vice President of Global Design for Nike Women’s Training. “Female athletes can show their support for their favorite teams in style, no matter if they’re cheering in the crowd or doing box jumps in the gym.”

The Nike Tight of the Moment x Federation Collection is a performance proposition. The patterns are printed on Nike Pro tights, which feature soft Dri-FIT fabric that pulls sweat away from the skin to help keep athletes dry and comfortable. Each of the tights in the collection has a matching Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic colorway.

“Through interviews with athletes, we’ve learned that High Intensity Training is a preferred method of training for female football players,” says Igarashi. “So it’s fitting our signature High Intensity Training shoe, the Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic, is in the collection.”

The NTM x Federation Collection will be available in select retailers and on Nike.com beginning June 12.

NIKE TIGHT OF THE MOMENT X USA
The Nike Tight of the Moment x USA draws inspiration from the U.S. away kit. The chevrons tie back to the ventilation pattern that runs down the side of the jersey and are strategically placed to highlight the body in motion. The bold red color and mesh print in the ankles is a tribute to the kit’s red away socks. A line down the side of the tight patriotically alternates colors between red, white and blue.

NIKE TIGHT OF THE MOMENT X BRASIL
The Brasilian goalie kit informed the design of the Nike Tight of the Moment x Brasil. It features five stars on each leg, which symbolize the number of titles the Brasilian National Team has won. The mid-section of the tight, extending from mid-thigh to just below the knee, is meant to mirror and honor the design of the Brasilian flag. A mesh print in select areas of the tight provides a sporty feel.

NIKE TIGHT OF THE MOMENT X ENGLAND
The English National Team away kit features the signature bold red color that carried England to glory in 1966. Just like this away shirt, the Nike Tight of the Moment x England incorporates a red tonal pinstripe design. A subtle graphic of St. George’s cross, which represents the English patron saint, can also be found on the tight. The horizontal plane of the cross runs along the knee, with the vertical plane running up and down the outside of the leg. Reflective tape runs down the side of the tight.

NIKE TIGHT OF THE MOMENT X FRANCE
The French National Team kit is inspired by the French town of Nîmes, the birthplace of denim. The Nike Tight of the Moment x France pays homage to the kit’s design by featuring a denim print. The white line down the side of the tight, which curves around the front of the shin, is a tribute to selvedge denim, a type of denim in which the edges are crisply bound to prevent unraveling. The tight also features a mesh-like print to connect back to the “burnout” mesh in the French National Team kit.
