Recently, I stumbled across the great work of Ben Wang, a graduating student at the LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore. Specialising in graphic design and illustration, Ben has combined two passions for his final year project – the re-branding of Singapore based football club and 5 time champions of the S.League, Tampines Rovers.
Addressing the declining attendances for league matches, the objective for Ben was to explore just how design can be used to reignite the passion and interest in local football clubs such as Tampines Rovers.
Image is everything in fan acquisition – of course, it has to resonate on field with performances but Ben has shone here, his work, I think is on point and effective.
Please enjoy a selection of his work and ultimately recommendations that I think the club should explore if they wish to address the apparent problem in falling attendances.
This is the current Tampines Rovers logo:

Sublime isn’t it?
