Inspired by the sights and sounds of a sports stadium, adidas have opened a new concept store in Bluewater – HomeCourt.
Dedicated to showcasing the innovative approach adidas takes in sports performance, the store aims to provide customers with a truly interactive retail experience.
Making use of touch screen technology, customers can access the adidas ecommerce site from the shop floor. At the heart of the store is design. Merging the spirit of sport and the retail environment, the aim is to bring the store to life, creating an arena feel and telling a story.
Rupert Campbell, Director of adidas UK Own Retail comments on the new store opening; “We’re committed to constant innovation within our retail space, looking for ways to offer our customers a unique shopping experience. We are really excited about our HomeCourt concept as it gives consumers the opportunity to experience the entire breadth and depth of the adidas brand in a sports performance led environment. Bluewater was the perfect destination for the first store of its kind in the UK due the vast customer base that it services across the South East of England and the already premium shopping experience that it offers.”
Naturally, the store has a heavy focus on football and a certain impending tournament. To celebrate the opening, Kevin Nolan, Stewart Downing and Mark Noble headed to the store.
There’s more in store events planned today – Shoppers will be able to win an in-store shopping spree of £500 by guessing the amount of adidas brazuca official 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ match balls filling a giant cube. Other activities in the zone will include a speed kicking challenge and a football freestyler demonstration throughout the day.
